Broncos release LB Ayodele

Englewood, CO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Denver Broncos have released free
agent linebacker Akin Ayodele.
The Denver Post reported the move on Tuesday afternoon, and the Broncos
website later confirmed it.
Ayodele played the last two seasons for Miami and in 2009 totaled 71 tackles
and a forced fumble in 16 games, 15 of those starts. He'd been signed by
Denver back in April.
The durable 30-year-old has never missed a game during the course of his eight
seasons in the league. In 128 career games, including 104 starts, Ayodele has
amassed 834 tackles, 9 1/2 sacks, seven interceptions and 10 forced fumbles
for the Dolphins, Cowboys and Jaguars.
Head coach Josh McDaniels said that the club intends to move Mario Haggans to
the inside linebacker slot -- where Ayodele had presumably been signed to play
in the first place.
McDaniels is quoted on the team's website as saying he didn't believe in
stringing veteran players along until the final cut when a decision has
already been made on his role, or lack of one, with the team.
As a result, Ayodele becomes a free agent again, clear to sign with any team
that wants him.
